Sales Data Analysis and Visualization Using Tableau to Support Business Decision-Making

The rapid growth of information technology has generated large volumes of sales data that can be utilized as a valuable source of information to support business decision-making. However, sales data presented in tabular form is often difficult to interpret and analyze efficiently. This study aims to analyze and visualize sales data using Tableau to produce meaningful insights and support data-driven business decision-making. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using the Superstore dataset consisting of 51,290 sales transactions. The research stages included data collection, data cleaning, data preparation, descriptive analysis, data visualization, and result interpretation. The findings indicate that the Technology category generated the highest sales and profit compared to other categories. The Central region contributed the highest sales performance, while the Phones sub-category recorded the highest sales value. In addition, sales trends showed consistent growth over the observed period. The interactive dashboard developed using Tableau successfully presented business information in an effective and understandable manner, enabling management to understand business performance, identify sales opportunities, and support faster, more accurate, and data-driven decision-making.
