The Influence of Work Competence and Work Conflict Through Job Satisfaction on Employee Performance in the Working Environment of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI)

Employee performance within the Secretariat General of DPR RI has shown fluctuating trends in recent years, shaped by factors such as work competence, work conflict, and job satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of job competence and workplace conflict on job satisfaction and its implications for employee performance within the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). This is an explanatory quantitative study using primary data. The research sample comprised 306 employees of the DPR RI. Data acquisition occurred through direct distribution of 306 questionnaires to respondents utilizing Google Forms. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares served as the analytical technique. Findings indicate that both job competence and work conflict exert positive and significant influences on job satisfaction. Moreover, job competence, work conflict, and job satisfaction each demonstrate positive and significant effects on employee performance. Job satisfaction further functions as a mediating variable in the relationships between job competence and work conflict with employee performance.
